Eagles saw four different players score in the first game against a ranked foe in Ypsilanti
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- The Eastern Michigan University lacrosse team played host to a nationally ranked foe for the first time in program history with fifth-ranked University of Michigan claiming a 20-4 win inside the EMU Indoor Practice Facility in Ypsilanti today, April 3. The Eagles (5-5) saw three different players record one goal each as the Wolverines (12-1) rebounded from their first loss of the season.
How It Happened
The visitors jumped out to a 5-0 lead after the first quarter and built into a 12-2 halftime advantage. In the second, both Amber Alderman (Lusby, Md./Patuxent) and Skylar Hilmer (San Diego, Calif./Patrick Henry) scored for the Eagles with Alderman's tally coming on a woman-up advantage.
Following the intermission, the Wolverines added to their lead with four more goals before Kyleigh Dill (Dover, Del./Dover) scored her fifth of the year to make it 17-3 at the end of the third. In the final quarter, Mackenzie Blackwell (North Beach, Md./Northern) got into the scoring as she netted her 38th of the year, leaving her one shy of tying her own single season scoring record set last year.

» Eastern fell to 5-5 on the year while Michigan improved to 12-1.
» The game with the Wolverines marked the second this year against a team ranked in the national top seven for the Eagles. Eastern opened the season with a 21-6 loss against the then-No. 7 Fighting Irish of the University of Notre Dame, Feb. 9.
