MUNCIE, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) -
The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team earned a team score of 195.100, good for second against host and Mid-American Conference foe, Ball State University, which scored a 196.400 in the regular-season finale Sunday, March 17, inside Worthen Arena. 
 
How It Happened
The Eagles began the dual meet on bars with a 48.950 team score, an improvement from the team's most recent 48.400 at the Ameritas Masters Classic, March 9. Leading the event for EMU was Trinity Macy (Rowlett, Texas/Texas Connections Academy/Pittsburgh)Jordan Jankowski (Athens, Ala./Alabama Connections Academy), and Kyrie Lowe (Lake Worth, Fla./Park Vista) who each scored a 9.800.
 
EMU headed to the vault next for its second rotation scoring a 48.800. Leading the charge for the Eagles was Alana Fisher (Athens, Ala./Alabama Connections Academy) who scored a near perfect 9.900 vault score for a new personal best. Her 9.900 tied for second place in the overall event. 
 
For the third rotation, Eastern Michigan competed on the floor, earning a 49.100. Raisa Boris (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center) led the event for the Eagles posting a 9.875. Abby Brushwood (State College, Pa./State College Area) followed behind with a 9.850. 
 
The Eagles finished off the away dual meet on beam scoring a 48.300. Leading the way for the Green and White was Boris with a 9.800, securing the top event spot. Katin Childress (Prosper, Texas/Prosper) made her beam debut as the freshman earned a 9.750. 
 
Boris placed third as an all-arounder with an overall score of 39.100. Additionally, Lowe appeared in all four events for just the second time in her career earning an all-around score of 38.225, good for fifth. 
 
Up Next: 
EMU is scheduled to travel to Muncie, Ind., once more, this time for the Mid-American Conference championship, March 23, hosted by the Ball State Cardinals with a meet start time of 2 p.m.
