YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Eastern Michigan University Head Volleyball Coach Kevin Foeman announced the addition of a new Eagle to the 2023 roster today, June 15, to put the official roster number to 18 active players - the most in program history.

Joining the squad for the upcoming season is Angel Baylark (Burlington, Iowa-Burlington-Iowa Central C.C.-UT Martin), who comes to Ypsilanti after a one-year stint at the University of Tennessee-Martin after spending the previous two years playing at Iowa Central Community College. According to Baylark, Coach Foeman was the main contributor in her decision to transfer to EMU.

"Angel brings a lot of heart and passion to our program, and we are so excited to get her to Eastern and have her be an integral part of our program" Foeman said. "She brings a lot of high-level experience along with a winner's mindset that we need, and her athleticism is off the charts. She has shown she can excel at a very high level, offensively and defensively, as she averaged almost two blocks a set and hit close to .300 in conference play last season" he continued. "Most importantly, I know she will fit in with our culture, coaching style, and the overall approach we take in our program".
