AKRON, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's and women's track and field teams competed at the Mid-American Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships at the University of Akron, May 11-13, inside the Lee R. Jackson Track and Field Complex.

The women's team placed second with 105 points just behind Ball State University's 108 points while the men's team was third with 144.50 points behind host Akron (168.50) and Kent State University(161), respectively.

"We had high goals coming into the meet and I'm very proud of our team for fighting until the very end," said Sue Parks, EMU Director of Cross Country/Track & Field. "We're disappointed with the team results but we battled injuries and setbacks before and during the meet and it was just too much to overcome.  However, we had some amazing individual performances throughout the three days of competition and it was great to celebrate those achievements.  It's been a great track season with many highlights and we're excited to continue on to the NCAA East Prelims in two weeks!"
