WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team wrapped up play at the Boilermaker Invitational Saturday, April 15, with back-to-back rounds of 293, finishing ninth overall at 872 (286-293-293). Senior Cam Kellett (London, Ontario-Saint Thomas Aquinas-Nevada) led the way at two-under 211 (69-72-70) for the tournament, including making four birdies in his final round.

No. 38 Purdue capped off a dramatic comeback late in the day, edging No. 11-ranked Oklahoma by one shot to win its first Boilermaker Invitational since 2011. Purdue trailed the Sooners by four shots with just 17 total holes to play, but recorded six birdies and 11 pars to rally for the victory. The Boilermakers withstood several late Oklahoma birdie chances and the Sooners suffered a key late bogey that tilted momentum and gave Purdue a one-shot victory with a 30-under par 822 (281-273-268). Oklahoma was second at 29-under par (280-277-266), while Kent State was third at 16-under par (282-278-276). Purdue's Herman Wibe Sekne and Oklahoma's Jase Summy tied for medalist honors at 11-under 202.

How It Happened
Kellett totalled 12 birdies over the course of the weekend, tied for 13th-most at the event. The London, Ontario, native finished tied for 15th, one shot better than No. 41 Stephen Campbell Jr. of Oklahoma. All told, the top-15 showing marked Kellett's third of season and fourth of his EMU career.

Freshman Logan Graf (Sylvan Lake, Alberta-HJ Cody) tied for 36th with a 218 (72-75-71), while freshman Ryan Somerville (Aurora, Ontario-Aurora) led the tournament with two eagles in 56th with a 233 (73-77-73).
