TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University rowing team opened up spring competition with four, 2,000-meter races against the University of Alabama on the Black Warrior River Saturday, March 4. The contest concluded the program's annual spring break training trip to Tuscaloosa.
Post Race Quotes
"It was a really tough racing into a head current and head wind," said Head Coach Kemp Savage. "The team executed some of the things we worked on really well but still have work to do moving into the next month before our next race."
"This training trip gave the team a good chance to work on a lot of technical aspects of rowing. I'm looking forward to fine tuning everything we worked on this week moving forward to spring season," graduate student Caitlin Cleypool (Hopkins, Mich.-Hopkins) said. "It was also really nice to get out of the snow and be in the warmth this week to get some time on the water."
