Women's Golf Opens Spring Slate at Falcon Florida Classic

LAKEWOOD RANCH, Fla. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team opens its spring season Monday, Feb. 6, traveling to Lakewood Ranch, Fla. to compete in the Falcon Florida Classic. The tournament is hosted by Bowling Green State University and takes place at par 72, 6,068-yard Lakewood Ranch Golf and Country Club.
After seven years as a match play tournament, the event returns to the traditional stroke play format in 2023. Teams will tee off Monday at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start and play 36 holes on day one. The tournament will conclude Tuesday with the final 18 holes starting at 11 a.m.
In addition to EMU, the 12-team field also includes Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Illinois State, Idaho, Northern Illinois, Ohio, Toledo, Western Illinois, and Western Michigan.
EMU will use the lineup of junior Anna Watson (Ashland, Ohio-Ashland), sophomore Kyleigh Dull (Fremont, Ohio-Lakota), senior Natai Apichonlati (Bangkok, Thailand-The Regent's International School), senior Olivia Loberg (Bend, Ore.-Summit), and sophomore Alyssa DiMarcantonio (Maple, Ontario-Tommy Douglas Secondary School). Senior Adeline Lau (Sa Rawak, Malaysia-SMK Bintulu-Michigan Dearborn) will be taking part in the event as an individual competitor.
