MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team fell to Central Michigan University, 196.250-192.050, on the road Friday night, Feb. 3, inside McGuirk Arena.
How It Happened
Eastern's first rotation took the team to the bars where the squad earned a 48.050 team score. Raisa Boris (Brooklyn Park, Minn.-Park Center) landed in the top spot among the Eagles on the apparatus with a 9.850 for third place. Kyrie Lowe (Lake Worth, Fla.-Park Vista) also matched her bars career high with a 9.800 performance to boost the team total.
EMU then moved to the vault and recorded a 47.700 event score. Molly Parris (Hudson, Ohio-Hudson) posted a season-high 9.725 on vault in her second consecutive meet to top the squad and grab fourth overall.
Eastern Michigan's third rotation took the team to the floor exercise where the Eagles registered a team-high 48.575 score. Boris led the Green and White with another 9.850 score for third place. The junior's 9.850 performance is her second of the season and matches her career high. Anna Grace McCullough (Birmingham, Ala.-Briarwood Christian) also added a season high 9.725 on floor.
The Green and White finished on the beam with a team score of 47.700. Ella Chemotti (Canton, Mich.-Canton) tallied a team-high 9.850 for second place overall on the event, her fourth score of 9.850 or better on beam this season.
Additionally, Chemotti made her all-around debut for the Eagles against the Chippewas, recording a 38.725 across all four events.
