MAC Releases Baseball Preseason Coaches Poll

EMU baseball is set to begin play Friday, Feb. 17 in Hoover, Ala.
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University baseball team was selected to finish eighth in the Mid-American Conference Preseason Poll, the league announced Wednesday, Feb. 15.
The annual preseason poll is conducted by all 11 head coaches in the MAC. Ball State University was picked to finish first (five first-place votes) in the conference, while Central Michigan University (3) was slated for second place with Kent State University (1) right behind them. The University of Toledo (1) rounded out the top four spots while Miami University (1), and Ohio University came in at fifth and sixth, respectively.
EMU finished right behind Western Michigan University, who took seventh, and ahead of Bowling Green State University, which was slated ninth. Northern Illinois University (10th) and the University of Akron (11th) took up the final two spots.
Additionally, BSU was projected to win the MAC tournament (five votes) while Central Michigan (2), Kent State (1), Miami (1), NIU (1), and Toledo (1) all received at least one vote to win the tournament title.
Eastern begins its 2023 slate with a three-game, neutral-site series against Northern Kentucky University Friday, Feb. 17 in Hoover, Ala. The games will be streamed via Eagle All-Access at EMUEagles.com/watch or through the EMU Athletics mobile app. Coverage Friday begins at 3:45 p.m. ET.

9. Bowling Green – 39 points
10. Northern Illinois – 27 points
