Eagles have signed 10 high school seniors for the 2025 season
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Ten high school seniors have signed National Letters of Intent to continue their academic and athletic careers with the Eastern Michigan University lacrosse program, Head Coach Sara Tisdale announced today, Nov. 8. All 10 student-athletes will begin competing for the Eagles in the 2025 season.
"This signing class is one of the most elite classes I have recruited to date," Tisdale said. "These student-athletes will have an immediate impact on the field and elevate our program to heights we've yet to experience. We are adding depth and talent in every position and we expect to see our transition play rapidly accelerate. I cannot wait to get these Eagles to campus and begin integrating them in our program."
The newest Eagles hail from four different states, including Michigan, Georgia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania, and two Canadian provinces, including Ontario and British Columbia. The group includes Stella Burke (Peterborough, Ontario/St. Peter's Catholic Secondary School), Marley Helton (Laurel, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti), Emerson Henry (Ashburn, Ontario/Donald A. Wilson), Sydney Howard (Cumming, Ga./North Forsyth), Erin Humphrey (Auburn Hills, Mich./Troy), Ainsley McLain (Sinking Spring, Pa./Wilson West Lawn), Elanya Narloch (Oxford, Mich./Lake Orion), Alex Paterson (Pitt Meadows, B.C./Pitt Meadows Secondary School), Reagan Riemer (Perry Hall, Md./Notre Dame Preparatory School), and Katheryn Wilson (Dacula, Ga./Mill Creek).
The additions of Howard (Cumming, Ga.) and Wilson (Dacula, Ga.) mark the 20th different state represented in the program's short history that includes players as far west as California, Oregon, and British Columbia, as far south as Texas and Florida, and as far east as the coastal states of Maryland, New Jersey, and New York. Additionally, the addition of Paterson marks the first high school signee for the Eagles from British Columbia with the signings of both Humphrey (Auburn Hills) and Narloch (Oxford) marking the first time Eastern has added multiple signees from the state of Michigan in the same year.
As a group, the newest Eagles have and continue to play multiple sports, including basketball, soccer, volleyball, track & field, rugby, ice hockey, field hockey, and flag football. All told, a handful of provincial, national, and summer tournament championships have been won by the signees and their teams, including Paterson, who helped her teams to the 2023 Women's Field Lacrosse National Championships crown after taking gold at the 2022 North American Indigenous Games. Additionally, Burke earned a gold medal in the 2022 Canada Summer Games, Helton helped her team to the 2023 Summer Genesis Championship, and Henry was part of four provincial championship squads.
