Track and Field Announces 2023-24 Schedule

The Eagles are slated to compete 24 times throughout the indoor and outdoor seasons

2023-24 Schedule 

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University Track and Field program and Director of Cross Country/Track and Field Sue Parks announced the indoor and outdoor schedule for the 2023-24 track and field season, today, Nov. 1.

The Eagles will kick-off the indoor season at nearby Saginaw Valley State University for the SVSU Holiday Open, Dec. 1-2, while also sending a squad to Boston, Mass. To the Sharon Colyear-Danville Opener hosted by Boston University, Dec. 2.

After a long break the remainder of December, Eastern will remain in its home state as it is slated to make two stops at the University of Michigan in January, with the Wolverine Invitational, Jan. 13, and the Michigan Invitational, Jan. 26-27. Sandwiched in between the two is EMU's first home meet, the Bob Parks Memorial, inside Bowen Field House, Jan. 20.

A bulk of the indoor campaign will take place in February as the Green and White are set for six meets, culminating in the Mid-American Conference Indoor Championships, Feb. 23-24, in Ypsilanti.

Prior to the conference meet the Eagles will make appearances at the Meyo Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame University, Feb. 2-3. Eastern is set for three meets on the ninth and 10th of February with the Tyson Invitational, hosted by the University of Arkansas, the David Henry Valentine Invite, at Boston, and the Music City Challenge at Vanderbilt University.

After a trio of meets, the Eagles will make their final stop in Ann Arbor, Mich., for the indoor season at the Silverston Invitational, Feb. 16. For those who qualify, the NCAA Indoor Championships will be held March 8-9, hosted by Boston University.

Eastern Michigan will start the outdoor portion of the season in the sunshine state with the Black and Gold Invite, hosted by the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Fla., March 15-16. Next comes the Clyde Hart Classic, hosted by Baylor University, March 22-23. EMU will cap the month with North Carolina State University's Raleigh Relays, March 28-30.

The Eagles will see action six times in April, first at the Jim Click Invitational at the University of Arizona, April 4-6, overlapping with the Michigan State University-hosted Spartan Invitational, April 5-6. April 12 marks the Chippewa Challenge, hosted by MAC foe, Central Michigan University.

For their next two meets, the Eagles will head south for the Wake Forest Invite, hosted by Wake Forest University, April 19, immediately followed by the Louisiana State University Alumni Gold, put on by LSU, April 20. Eastern's lone stop at neighboring Michigan in the outdoor season comes April 27 with the Len Paddock Open.

Outdoor postseason competition begins May 9-11 in DeKalb, Ill., hosted by the Northern Illinois University Huskies, followed by the NCAA East Prelims, May 22-25, in Lexington, Ky., and the NCAA Outdoor Championships, June 5-8, in historic Eugene, Ore.

More details such as start times and facilities will be made available closer to the beginning of the regular-season.
