YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University soccer team (1-11-6 overall, 1-7-2 Mid-American Conference) is scheduled to conclude its 2023 season with a home match against Miami University (7-10-1 overall, 4-6-0 MAC) Thursday, Oct. 26, at 3 p.m.

ON THE AIR: Live stats for the match against Miami will be available at emueagles.com/livestats.

QUICK KICKS:
» The Eagles enter the week with an 1-11-6 record after one-goal losses to the University of Akron (1-2, Oct. 19) and Ohio University (0-1, Oct. 22).
» Freshman Olivia Sipsock scored in the 64th minute against Akron while freshman Kate Robinson recorded her MAC-leading seventh assist.
» Senior Rebecca Przybylo made a career-high eight saves in the loss against Ohio, despite just playing the second half.
» Eastern Michigan is now 249-245-70 all-time and stands 143-116-34 in MAC play. With one more victory, the Eagles will record the 250th win in program history. » Head Coach Scott Hall is currently in his 25th season at the helm of the program and holds an all-time record of 210-214-67 (132-112-32 MAC) during his time in Ypsilanti.
» Scott Hall is in elite company as the Eagles' gaffer is one of just 44 active head coaches embarking on their 25th or higher season with an NCAA Division I women's program in 2023, and one of only 13 of which has done so at the same school. Hall is the sixth head coach of any sport in EMU history to guide the same program for 25 or more years.
ONE MORE: Eastern sports an all-time record of 249-245-70, leaving the Eagles just one win shy of reaching the 250 victory milestone. The last time the Eagles recorded a milestone victory came Sept. 21, 2018, when their 2-0 home win over Kent State University marked the 225th program win.

FRESHMEN TAKEOVER: Through 18 matches, freshmen Kate Robinson and Olivia Sipsock have made a name for themselves as the duo have combined for 25 points, more than half of the team's 48 points. Robinson has a trio of goals and seven assists, highlighted by a two-assist outing at Purdue Fort Wayne, Sept. 7. Sipsock has five goals and two assists, highlighted by her 88th-minute goal against Buffalo, Oct. 1, a match in which she also tallied an assist.

MAC ASSISTS LEADER: Freshman Kate Robinson leads the MAC with seven assists, the most by an Eagle since Angela Vultaggio (8), Stephanie Clarke (7), and Martha Stevens (7) all tallied at least seven assists in 2013. Robinson is the first EMU freshman in 16 years and the third freshman in program history to record at least seven assists in a season, joining Jodi Coyle (8, 1997) and Stephanie Janssens (8, 2007).

ALUMNI WEEKEND: The program held its annual Alumni Weekend, Oct. 14-15. Alumni of the program watched the current Eagles train before the football team topped Kent State later in the day Saturday, Oct. 14. Then, Sunday, Oct. 15, the soccer alumni were recognized at halftime of the match against rival Western Michigan at Scicluna Field.

SCOUTING MIAMI: Miami enters Thursday's match with a 7-10-1 overall mark and a 4-6 clip in MAC play. The RedHawks have won three-straight matches as the squad is coming off a 2-0 win over Akron, Oct. 22. Taylor Hamlett leads Miami with four goals on a roster that has scored 13 goals and conceded 23. Seven different RedHawks have scored while eight RedHawks have an assist, led by a trio of players with two assists apiece.

IN THE SERIES WITH THE REDHAWKS: The Eagles trail by an 11-15-2 margin in the all-time series with the RedHawks. The Eagles have come up victorious in one of the last seven matches between the teams. EMU holds a 7-6-1 advantage over Miami in Ypsilanti all-time. Eastern and Miami played to a 2-2 draw in the teams' most recent match-up, Oct. 27, 2022.

LOOKING BACK - VS AKRON (L, 1-2 OCT. 19)
» Olivia Sipsock scored in the 64th minute to level the match at 1-1 but Akron netted the game-winner in the 86th minute.
» Kate Robinson tallied her seventh assist of the season while Sipsock's goal was her fifth.
» Akron held an 21-9 advantage in shots while the Eagles held a 7-5 advantage in corner kicks.

LOOKING BACK - AT OHIO (L, 0-1 OCT. 22)
» Ohio scored the match's lone goal in the 53rd minute.
» Rebecca Przybylo matched her career high with eight saves, despite only playing the second half.
» The Bobcats held a 30-11 advantage in shots and an 8-3 mark in corner kicks.

PRZYBYLO CAREER-HIGH SAVES: Senior Rebecca Przybylo reset her career high in saves against Western Michigan, Oct. 15, with eight saves. Przybylo also had eight saves against Ohio, Oct. 22, despite only playing the second half.

CAN SHE REACH 200 CAREER SAVES???: Senior Rebecca Przybylo enters Thursday's match with 188 career saves, sitting 12 shy of the milestone 200th career save. Przybylo ranks eighth in program history in career saves and would become the eighth Eagle to reach 200 if she is able to make 12 stops in her final collegiate match Thursday.

TWO WITH FIVE SAVES: Senior Rebecca Przybylo (8) and redshirt freshman Ella Holland (5) each made at least five saves against Ohio, Oct. 22. The match marks the first time since Sept. 17, 2000, that the Eagles had multiple players with five-plus saves in the same match as Sarah Willis and Katie Kretschmer each tallied exactly five saves in a 2-1 win over Northern Arizona.

TWO WITH FIVE GOALS: Junior Meagan Lukowski and freshman Olivia Sipsock each have five goals in 2023, marking the first time the Eagles have had multiple players with five or more goals in a season since 2019 when Amanda Cripps (7), Kristin Hullibarger (7), Sabrina McNeill (7), and Lindsey Shira (6) all scored at least five goals.

NEWCOMER POINTS: Through 18 matches, EMU has accumulated 48 points, including 18 goals and 12 assists. Of those 48 points, more than half have come from rookies with Kate Robinson collecting 13 points (three goals, seven assists) and Olivia Sipsock with 12 points (five goals, two assists).

DRAW OR ONE-GOAL GAMES: The Eagles have played 13 one-goal games or draws out of 18 matches, holding a 1-6-6 overall mark in such matches. If EMU and Miami play a one-goal game or draw in the final match of the season Thursday, the Eagles would match their 2021 total of 14 one-goal games or draws. EMU had nine such matches in 2022.

IT'S NOT HOW YOU START, IT'S HOW YOU FINISH: The Eagles will look to end their 2023 campaign with a win Thursday, which would mark EMU's second season-ending win in program history as Eastern won 2-1 at Dayton, Oct. 26, 1996, to close the 1996 season, exactly 27 years to the date of Thursday's match against Miami. In program history, EMU holds a 14-12-2 mark in its final regular season match and a 1-23-4 record in its final match of the season.
