Gymnastics Announces 2024 Season Schedule

Eagles set to host four home meetsin upcoming 2024 season
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - Eastern Michigan University gymnastics Head Coach Katie Minasola announced the program's 2024 schedule today, Oct. 19. The Eagles are slated to host four home dual competitions inside the George Gervin GameAbove Center.
"I'm really looking forward to our upcoming competitions," Minasola expressed. "In addition to our strong MAC opponents, we have the opportunity to compete against high level programs such as the University of Minnesota, the University of Florida, and the University of Nebraska, to name a few. The team and I are really excited for our 2024 schedule and are ready to attack the season."
Before the official 2024 campaign begins, the Eagles will compete in a scrimmage hosted by the University of Michigan, Dec. 3. In addition to Michigan and EMU, expected participants include the remianing two Michigan Mid-American Conference members, Western Michigan University and Central Michigan University.
In the new year, EMU will start its 47th season on the road, competing in a triangular meet at Western Michigan, Sunday, Jan. 7, in Kalamazoo, Mich. Talladega College will also compete against the Eagles and the hosting Broncos. The Green and White will remain away for their next contest as it travels to Minneapolis, Minn., for a meet with the Gophers, Jan. 13.
Eastern Michigan's home opener will also be the team's first MAC meet of the season as the Eagles face the Chippewas of CMU inside the George Gervin GameAbove Center Friday, Jan. 19. The team is slated to continue its homestand as the squad welcomes the University of Wisconsin-Stout for a duel meet, Jan. 21, before playing host to the Broncos of WMU, Feb. 2.
The Falcons of Bowling Green State University will host the Green and White for a dual meet Feb. 11 for EMU's third road contest of the season. From there, EMU is scheduled to host the Northern Illinois University Huskies, Feb. 18.
The rest of the season will see the Eagles on the road as they travel to Kent, Ohio for a dual meeting with the Golden Flashes, March 3. Eastern Michigan will compete in its only quad meet of the season, March 9, as the team makes its way to Lincoln, Neb., to face host Nebraska, Florida, and Lindenwood University.
Next, the program will conclude its regular season with a conference meeting in Muncie, Ind. The Eagles will face the Cardinals of Ball State University, Saturday, March 16, to round off the season prior to postseason.
Finally, the 2024 MAC Championships will be held at Ball State in Muncie, Ind., Saturday, March 23, at 2 p.m. If the Eagles qualify, the team could compete at NCAA Regionals at one of four possible locations including Ann Arbor, Mich., Berkeley, Calif., Fayetteville, Ark., and Gainsville, Fla.
This season's NCAA Championships is set to be held in Fort Worth, Texas.
