WOLCOTT, Colo. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University junior Anna Watson (Ashland, Ohio-Ashland) tallied a 54-hole tally of 224 (70-76-78) for 48th place on the final day of the Golfweek Red Sky Classic, Sept. 28. For Watson, it marked the 18th time in her career she has finished inside the top-50 at a tournament.
As a team, Eastern Michigan finished 18th at the 20-team competition, posting a score of 923 (293-316-314) on the par-72 Red Sky Golf Club - Fazio Course.
Pepperdine finished with a three-day total of an 18-under 846 (285-279-282) at the par-72 Red Sky Golf Club, which far outpaced Kennesaw State's 861. The Waves also took the top two individual spots. Lion Higo was the medalist at 10-under on the heels of a 67 in the final round. Lauren Gomez took second at seven-under while Sophie Bert of East Tennessee State was third at four-under.
How It Happened
Sophomore Kyleigh Dull (Fremont, Ohio-Lakota) carded a 77 on Wednesday for 54-hole mark of 228 (74-77-77) in a tie for 66th. Senior Olivia Loberg (Bend, Ore.-Summit) added 237 (73-82-82) to tie for 88th, while senior Natai Apichonlati (Bangkok, Thailand-The Regent's International School) finished the day with a 238 (79-81-78) in 90th place. Sophomore Alyssa DiMarcantonio (Maple, Ontario-Tommy Douglas Secondary School) rounded out the scoring with a 239 (76-82-81) in 92nd.
