DAVIDSON, N.C. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University senior Cam Kellett (London, Ontario-Saint Thomas Aquinas-Nevada) recorded his third career top-25 finish Tuesday, Sept. 20, at the River Run Collegiate. The London, Ontario, native closed with a 74 to finish the event with a 220 (75-71-74). The two-day mark is tied for the fourth lowest 54-hole tally of his career.
As a team, Eastern finished tied with Marshall University in 14th with a tally of 894 (296-296-302) at the River Run Country Club. Host Davidson University won the event with a 11-under 277 in the final round to come-from-behind to win with a 867 (299-291-277). East Carolina University was second (870) followed by the University of Dayton (875), Radford University (878), Appalachian State University (879), and George Mason University (879).
How It Happened
Freshman Ryan Somerville (Aurora, Ontario-Aurora) picked up his first top-35 showing, finishing in 32nd place with a 221 (75-75-71). After entering the day in sixth place, junior Patrick Deardorff (Clarkston, Mich.-Clarkston) finished 53rd with a 226 (70-74-82). Freshmen Logan Graf (Sylvan Lake, Alberta-HJ Cody) and Victor Caliguri (Cincinnati, Ohio-Elder) rounded out the scoring with a 230 (76-76-78) and a 232 (76-77-79), respectively.
