YORKTOWN, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team tied for sixth place among 12 teams during the first two rounds of the Cardinal Classic hosted by Ball State University Monday, Sept. 19, posting a second-round 291 to tie with Purdue Fort Wayne after shooting 305 in the morning round.
Loyola University finished atop the leaderboard at 586 with Western Michigan University (589), Oakland University (590), the University of Akron (592), and Ball State (593) following closely behind.
Ball State's Kiah Parrott was the top individual at nine-under 135 (67-68), as Loyola's Serena Shah and Purdue Fort Wayne's Anna Olafsdootir tied for second-place, swinging for 140.
For the Green and White, senior Natai Apichonlati (Bangkok, Thailand-The Regent's International School) fired back-to-back rounds of 73 for a two-over 146 in a tie for seventh.
How It Happened
Following Apichonlati's tie for seventh place, sophomore Kyleigh Dull (Fremont, Ohio-Lakota) knotted for 29th place, posting rounds of 76 and 75 for a 151. Sophomore Alyssa DiMarcantonio (Maple, Ontario-Tommy Douglas Secondary School) notched rounds of 85 and 67 for a 152 to reside tied for 34th place with fellow teammate Olivia Loberg (Bend, Ore.-Summit) who shot for back-to-back rounds of 76. Rounding out the scoring for EMU was junior Tatyana Nyambane (Nairobi, Kenya-Nord Anglia International School Dubai) tied for 52nd place, earning 156 (80-76).
Playing as an individual, senior Adeline Lau (Sa Rawak, Malaysia-SMK Bintulu-Michigan Dearborn) added a 173 (86-87).

Tuesday's third round is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. The Eagles will be paired with BSU and Akron.
