Women's Golf Has High Hopes Headed to Cardinal Classic

YORKTOWN, Ind. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team heads to Yorktown, Ind., for the Brittany Kelly Cardinal Classic hosted by Ball State University, Sept. 19-20. The Players Club course plays to a par-72 and a length of 6,139. There will be two rounds on Monday, with a shotgun start and continuous play beginning at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday's round will begin at 9 a.m.
The 11-team tournament will feature five Mid-American Conference teams (Akron, Ball State, EMU, Ohio, and Western Michigan) along with Dayton, IUPUI, Loyola, Oakland, Purdue Fort Wayne, and Valparaiso.
Last year, Head Coach Stephanie Jennings' team fired a final round 304 to finish as the runner-up at the event with a 915 (312-299-304), Sept. 20-21. EMU was in 10th-place after round one, but rebounded to jump eight spots.
EMU will use the lineup of sophomore Alyssa DiMarcantonio (Maple, Ontario-Tommy Douglas Secondary School), sophomore Kyleigh Dull (Fremont, Ohio-Lakota), senior Natai Apichonlati (Bangkok, Thailand-The Regent's International School), senior Olivia Loberg (Bend, Ore.-Summit), and junior Tatyana Nyambane (Nairobi, Kenya-Nord Anglia International School Dubai). Senior Adeline Lau (Sa Rawak, Malaysia-SMK Bintulu-Michigan Dearborn) will be taking part in the event as an individual competitor.
