Two gymnasts join early signees King and Lowe

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University Head Gymnastics Coach Katie Minasola announced the additions of Priya Karle (Canton, Mass.-Canton) and Trinity Macy (Rowlett, Texas -Texas Connections Academy-Pittsburgh) to the 2023 roster. The two newcomers join Iyana King (St. Louis, Mo.-Gateway STEM) and Kyrie Lowe (Lake Worth, Fla.-Park Vista), who previously signed to the program in January.

"I am very excited to announce the additions of Trinity and Priya," Minasola said. "Trinity will bring experience and depth to all events along with a strong sense of drive and determination while Priya will add value to our vault line up and help our team culture grow."

"We are eager for Iyana, Kyrie, Trinity and Priya to join us on campus this fall," Minasola added.

A "true" freshman, Karle joins Eastern this fall from Canton, Mass. Under Bulldogs Head Coaches Chad and Laura Buczek, Karle was the 2019 Massachusetts state and regional champion in the vault.

After two years at the University of Pittsburgh under Head Coach Samantha Snider, Macy joins the Eagles this fall. With the Panthers, the Texas native earned a spot on the East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) Second Team with a score of 9.775 on bars at the EAGL Championship in 2021.

A two-time Texas state team champion with Metroplex Gymnastics, Macy earned top 10 finishes in three different events at nationals over the course of her high school career. The newcomer also earned an academic honor roll distinction and was a three-time Dean's List honoree at Texas Connections Academy.

The Eagles look forward to another season of Mid-American Conference competition this January. Visit EMUEagles.com or follow @EMUGym on Twitter to stay up-to-date on everything EMU gymnastics.
