BOWLING GREEN, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University sophomore Anna Watson (Ashland, Ohio-Ashland) shot a team-best 78, six-over-par, and currently sits in 14th place after round one of the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational, held at Stone Ridge Golf Club in Bowling Green, Ohio today, April 9. The Buckeye State native carded 13 pars during her effort. She is currently five off the pace as the University of Detroit Mercy's Kendall Payne and the University of Akron's Jacinta Pikunas each tallied one-over rounds of 73 to top the leaderboard.
As a team, Eastern Michigan resides in 5th at the 11-team competition, posting a score of 315 (+27). The Zips of Akron and Falcons of Bowling Green State University are tied for the overall team lead after each posting scores of 307 (+19). Cleveland State University and Detroit Mercy, tied for third, sit just five strokes ahead of EMU (+22) after firing scores of 310, respectively.
How It Happened
Watson paced the Eagles as the most consistent force in the lineup, recording just five non-par scores (four bogeys, one double-bogey) en route to her six-over finish.
The trio of freshmen Kyleigh Dull (Fremont, Ohio-Lakota), Alyssa DiMarcantonio (Maple, Ontario-Tommy Douglas Secondary School) and sophomore Paige Zolciak (Perrysburg, Ohio-St. Ursula Academy) finished just behind Watson, each tallying scores of seven-over, 79, in their first 18 holes of play.
Dull led all Eagles with two birdies on the day, while Zolciak never scored worse than a bogey in round one action. Dimarcantonio carded one under-par effort on the day for the Green and White as well.

The 36-hole tournament will conclude tomorrow, April 10. The final 18 holes of action are scheduled to begin with a shotgun start between 9-10 a.m.
