Eastern Throwers Chase Marks on Day One of Tennessee Relays

Two Eagles recorded top-10 program records
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (EMUEagles.com) – The hammer throwers of the Eastern Michigan University track & field displayed their skills at the Tennessee Relays tonight, April 7, at Tom Black Track at LaPorte Stadium.
How It Happened
Junior Newlyn Stephenson (Gary, Ind.-Thea Bowman Leadership Academy) and sophomore Miranda Cadwell (Plainfield, Ill.-Plainfield South) highlighted the day for the Eagles as both achieved top-10 program marks. Stephenson achieved a personal-best throw of 64.36m to crack the top five in the EMU record book, topping his previous best of 63.97m. Meanwhile, sophomore Cadwell improved her hammer throw to 51.17m, placing her sixth all-time in the event in EMU history. Additionally, senior Kadian Clarke (Kingston, Jamaica-Immaculate Conception) recorded a top-10 finish in the competition today with a 56.59-meter toss for ninth overall.
