Berger places 13th in 3-meter championship round

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University diving team concluded NCAA Zone C Diving Championships Tuesday, March 8, inside the Canham Natatorium.

"I would like to thank everyone that has supported me throughout my diving career," senior Bethany Berger (Batavia, Ohio-Glen Este) said. "I would like to thank my club coach back home, Lisa Werwinski, for taking a chance on me. I would also like to thank Buck [Smith] for helping me grow not only as a diver but more as a person each year!"

"It was great to spend the past five years with Bethany," Head Diving Coach Buck Smith said. "She was a tremendous captain and leader for our program during her time in Ypsilanti, and will be truly missed."

How It Happened
Berger placed 11th in the preliminary round of the 3-meter dive with a score of 290.10, and finished 13th in the championship round with a score of 576.35.

Freshman Camryn Hughes (London, Ontario-Sir Frederick Banting Secondary) placed 41st with a mark of 214.70, while classmate Rebekah Knapp (Mesa, Ariz.-Skyline) finished 33rd with a score of 242.
