CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) — Eastern Michigan University gymnastics freshman Ella Chemotti (Canton, Mich.-Canton) was named as one of the Mid-American Conference's best gymnasts today, March 18, by the league office.
Chemotti earned First Team All-MAC honors, becoming the sixth gymnast in program history to be named to the conference's first team, and the first since Cortney Bezold in 2019.
The freshman was a big addition to Eastern Michigan for the 2022 season, leading the team on beam, scoring 9.900-or-better three times, including her personal-best 9.950, Jan. 28. The performance tied for second all-time on the event with former Eagle Jada Rondeau. Chemotti also improved on vault and bars throughout the season, with career-bests of 9.800, and 9.850, respectively. The Canton, Mich. native ended the season first in the MAC on beam, with an NQS of 9.875.
