RIO VERDE, Ariz. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team finished in a tie with Ball State University on the final leaderboard Sunday afternoon, Feb. 27, at the Rio Verde Invitational. On the third and final day of competition the Eagles fired a team score of 313 to finish 10th in the standings. EMU's three-day total of 933 (303-317-313) was well behind champion Kennesaw State University, which won the event by 12-shots.
How It Happened
Freshman Kyleigh Dull (Fremont, Ohio-Lakota) recorded her fifth top-20 showing of her young career, posting a 226 (75-75-76) on the par 72, 6,001-yard White Wing Golf Course. The Fremont, Ohio native did her best work on the course's par 3 and par 5 setups, as she posted a 3.13 and a 4.93, respectively.
Classmate Alyssa DiMarcantonio (Maple, Ontario-Tommy Douglas Secondary School) notched her best 54-hole tally with a three-day mark of 230 (76-77-77). Overall, she finished in a tie for 37th at 14-over.
Sophomore Anna Watson (Ashland, Ohio-Ashland) tied for 44th with a 233 (76-81-76) and junior Olivia Loberg (Bend, Ore.-Summit) finished in 76th at 244 (76-84-84). Junior Natai Apichonlati (Bangkok, Thailand-The Regent's International School) rounded out the scoring with a 244 (82-88-86).
