Track & Field Records Five Event Titles at Silverston Invitational

The Eagles turn their attention to MAC Indoor Championships, Feb. 25-26
ANN ARBOR, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University track & field program wrapped up its regular season with a tune-up at the Silverston Invitational tonight, Feb. 18, inside the U-M Indoor Track Building.
How It Happened
Senior Kadian Clarke (Kingston, Jamaica-Immaculate Conception) continued her winning ways, taking home event titles in both shot put (15.11m) and weight throw (20.64m). Meanwhile, graduate student Taige Bryant (Edmond, Okla.-Edmond Memorial) paced the Eagles in the weight throw with a toss of 22.45m. Additionally, senior Chukwusom Enekwechi (Valley Stream, N.Y.-Jamaica Gateway to the Sciences (Monroe College)) won his fifth-straight shot put title with a heave of 18.10m.
Elsewhere in the field, EMU's jumpers had a solid day. Senior Baboucar Sallah-Mohammed (Windhoek, Namibia-Fishburne Military (Bethany College)) recorded season-bests in the long jump (1st - 7.28m) and triple jump (3rd - 15.19m). Additionally, junior Richie Sadler (Greenville, S.C.-Greer (Coastal Carolina)) also notched his best triple jump so far this season, leaping 15.11m for fourth. Graduate student Alisha St. Louis (D'abadie, Trinidad and Tobago-St. Francois Girls College (Johnson C. University)) captured the triple jump title on the women's side, bounding 11.69m for the win.
On the track, junior Alysse Wade (Mansfield, Ohio-St. Peter's) and sophomore Almighty Williamson (Baltimore, Md.-Digital Harbor (Barton C.C.)) both finished runner-up in the 60m hurdles with times of 8.57 and 7.93 seconds, respectively.
