Tennis Stays Local For Friday Doubleheader

The Eagles will take on Northwood and Michigan State, Feb. 18
MIDLAND & EAST LANSING, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University tennis team will stay in Michigan for its road doubleheader Friday, Feb. 18. The Eagles will travel to Northwood University first for a 10 a.m. start time, before heading to Michigan State University for its second match at 5 p.m.
Eastern (5-4) returned home above .500 after a long weekend traveling the Midwest. The Eagles ended the roadtrip on a four-match win streak, besting the University of Chicago (Feb. 11), 4-3, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee (Feb. 12), 4-3, Valparaiso University (Feb. 13), 6-1, and Holy Cross College (Ind.) (Feb. 13), 7-0. Freshman Sabina Brichackova (Cheb, Czech Republic-Gymnaszium Jana Blahoslava) remains undefeated in singles action for the Green and White, currently sporting an 8-0 record, primarily from the No. 4 spot. Brichackova and her doubles partner, freshman Prerna Vichare (Mumbai, India-Narsee Monjee College of Commerce and Economics), hold the top doubles record for the team at 7-1. The freshmen duo mainly competes in the No. 3 slot.
Northwood (3-0) enters the matchup undefeated, having most recently topped Ashland University, 6-1, Feb. 12. Michigan State (4-1) finds itself on a four-match win streak as well. The Spartans defeated Arizona 4-3, Feb. 9, in their latest contest.
