Transfer goalie set to join the Eagles for their inaugural season
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University lacrosse team has added Hannah Bargeron (Farmington, Utah-Viewmont-Westminster) to the 2023 roster, Head Coach Sara Tisdale announced today, Dec. 21. The 5-foot-10 goalie comes to Ypsilanti from Westminster College in Salt Lake City, Utah, and will join the Eagles in time for the start of their upcoming inaugural season that will begin February 2023.
Bargeron was the primary starter in goal for the Griffins, who are members of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and NCAA Division II. Between the pipes, Bargeron started in 17 of the 22 games she played, including 12 starts in 13 games during the 2022 season. In her final season with WC, Bargeron halted 131 shots for a 43.4 save percentage while allowing 17.44 goals per game.
Twice during the season, she stopped over 20 shots, including a career-best 23 against Colorado State University Pueblo in a home game, April 10, 2022. Just under three weeks later, in her final game at Westminster, she tallied 22 stops against the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, April 30, 2022. Additionally, she recorded 33 ground balls and six caused turnovers in her career with the Griffins.
A 2016 graduate of Viewmont High School in Farmington, Utah, Bargeron was a standout in goal where she was a four-year starter and two-time captain for the Vikings. An all-state and all-region performer, she saved nearly 60 percent of the shots she faced while allowing just 1.45 goals per game for VHS. The team's Defensive MVP her senior year, Bargeron also was a member of the 2015 U.S. Lacrosse Utah/Idaho U17 National Lacrosse Team.
The 2023 Eagles are preparing for the inaugural season which is set to begin in February. A full schedule for the team's first season of play will be released in early January.
