Low and Toussaint help grow signing class to 12 individuals for the 2024 season
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — Two more individuals have signed National Letters of Intent to continue their academic and athletic careers with the Eastern Michigan University lacrosse program, Head Coach Sara Tisdale announced today, Dec. 20. Both Karly Low (Owen Sound, Ontario-Owen Sound District Secondary) and Eleanor Toussaint (Buffalo, Minn.-Buffalo) will join the program this fall and compete with the Eagles during the 2024 season.
With the additions of Low and Toussaint, the Eagles' signing class has grown to 12 individuals. Low is the second signee in the class from the state of Minnesota, joining Carly Johnson (Apple Valley, Minn.-Apple Valley), who signed Nov. 10. Toussaint is the lone Canadian of this year's signing class and will join fellow countrywoman Briar Slattery (Woodstock, Ontario-Everest Academy) on the roster next year.
Low is a two-year member of the Owen Sound District Secondary school program with the pandemic shortening both seasons. As a junior, she was named the team's MVP and helped them to a fourth-place showing at the Trillium Cup. A member of the school's volleyball and downhill skiing teams, Low also competed at the club level for the Owen Sound Lady Northstars for eight years and twice was selected to compete for Team Ontario. As a member of Team Ontario, Low has competed internationally in the World Lacrosse Festival, the Brogden Cup, and the Presidents Cup while helping her team to a silver medal at the National Cup.
Toussaint is set for her fourth season playing for Buffalo High School where she captained the team as a junior and set the school record for points in a game last year. The senior has been selected first team all-state, all-section, and all-conference during her prep playing career that also features time playing for the BHS volleyball team. At the club level, Toussaint has played five years for both Minnesota Elite and Pipeline Club Lacrosse.
The 2023 Eagles are preparing for the inaugural season which is set to begin in February. A full schedule for the team's first season of play will be released in early January.
