Tomasek Earns Fourth MAC Player of the Week Honor

He is the first four-time winner from EMU since 2018

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) - Eastern Michigan University sophomore punter Mitchell Tomasek (Columbus, Ohio-Worthington Kilbourne) collected Mid-American Conference West Division Special Teams Player of the Week honors, the league announced today, Nov. 14. It marks the fourth time in his career he has garnered the accolade, all of which have come during the current campaign. He is the first Eastern Michigan player to earn player of the week accolades four times in a season since the 2018 campaign when former punter Jake Julien did so five times in 13 weeks of play.

The MAC leader in punting, continued his impressive season with a four-punt night at the University of Akron, Nov. 8. He averaged 45.0 yards per punt against the Zips, and notched a long of 52 yards. Additionally, he was able to pin the ball inside the Akron 20-yard line on one occasion.

Eastern Michigan is back in action Wednesday, Nov. 16 with a midweek game against Kent State University. Kickoff is set for 6 p.m. inside Dix Stadium. The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN2 and on WEMU (89.1 FM).
