The Eagles are set to welcome two top-tier high school players to next season’s roster
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) -- Seventh-year Eastern Michigan University women's basketball head coach Fred Castro announced the signing of two high school seniors to National Letters of Intent Tuesday, Nov. 10. Joining the Green and White next season is Jazmin Adams (Oklahoma City, Okla.-Putnam City West), and Cali Denson (Milwaukie, Ore.-Milwaukie Academy of the Arts).
"Today is a great day as we get to announce two new additions to our program in Jaz Adams and Cali Denson," said Castro. "Both of these individuals are stellar student-athletes that will impact our program both on and off the floor."

"We have been recruiting Jaz Adams for a number of years now," said Castro. Her unique combination of power and skill is what caught my attention. Jaz, in a nutshell is a tough cookie. She can guard anyone on the floor and loves to compete! One of Jaz's greatest strengths is her consistency, whether it's AAU or high school, you can always put her down for a double-double in points and rebounds. Lastly, Jaz can't wait to be here at Eastern Michigan, and I absolutely love that about her!"
Cali Denson G 5-8 Fr. Milwaukie, Ore.-Milwaukie Academy of the Arts
EMU: 2023: Joins the EMU basketball program as an incoming signee...HIGH SCHOOL: Attends Milwaukie Academy of the Arts and plays under Head Coach Michael White as a Mustang...Has played on the varsity squad in each of her four years as well as a four-year team captain...Averaged 27 points, four assists, three steals, and four rebounds per game as a senior... "Cali Denson comes to Eastern Michigan as a high school valedictorian and Oregon first team all state player," said Castro. "Cali is a bona fide scorer finishing as the second all time leading scorer in Oregon history. She can score at all three levels and has "out the gym" type range. She will fit in perfectly in our motion offense as we look to be balanced with our inside out scoring. She has a real confidence about her game as is shown in her record setting 14 three-pointers in one game. I'm certain our fan base will enjoy watching Cali wear Green and White these next 4 years."
Castro and the current Eagles roster are set to continue their 2022-23 campaign Sunday, Nov. 13 when the team travels to Illinois to face Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. The game is set to begin at 1 p.m. inside the Sam M. Vadalabene Center. Fans can follow along via livestats at emueagles.com/livestats.
