Gymnastics Lands Transfer from CMU

Vanderbeek will bring value and experience to the 2022 lineups
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics program and Head Coach Katie Minasola announce the addition of junior transfer Mayleigh Vanderbeek (Holland, Mich.-Zeeland East (Central Michigan)) today, Aug. 31.
Vanderbeek will join the reigning Mid-American Conference Champions after two years at Central Michigan University, where she competed solely on beam and earned a career-high 9.850 at Bowling Green her freshman season. The Holland, Mich. native competed out of Champion Gymnastics USA under Head Coach Tami Schaafsma prior to her time at CMU. The junior transfer was a Level 7 and 8 State Champion, as well as a two-time Eastern National qualifier and three-time National qualifier.
"We are very excited to announce the addition of Mayleigh to our team," said Minasola. "She will not only add value to our lineups but experience as well."
