EMU signs midfielder Olivia Halverson
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University lacrosse program added its first recruit from the Garden State, announced Head Coach Alicia Groveston Jackson today, April 8, in Hillsborough High School senior Olivia Halverson.
"Olivia is a gritty, two midfielder, who will make a name for herself between the 30's," said Head Coach Alicia Groveston Jackson. "She is quick on the draw, an amazing option in transition and has a great lacrosse IQ. She not only has the ability to carry the ball, but can also finish on the offensive end. Her intelligence on and off the field will be a true asset to our growing program."
Lacrosse will be the 19th varsity sport at Eastern Michigan, which begins play during the 2022-23 academic year. EMU will be the seventh Mid-American Conference institution to sponsor the sport at the NCAA Division I level. Others in the MAC include Akron, Central Michigan, Detroit Mercy, Kent State, Robert Morris, and Youngstown State.
