JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University women's golf team continues its spring slate in Jacksonville, Fla., Monday, March 8, at the Benbow Invitational hosted by Butler University. The event is named in honor of long-time Butler administrator and Hall of Famer Don Benbow.
The two-day, 36-hole event will be played at the Jacksonville Beach Golf Club, with round one on Monday and the final 18 holes on Tuesday. Shotgun starts are scheduled for 9 a.m. both days on the par-71, 6,050 yard course layout.
Eastern Michigan will be joined along with Butler, Evansville, Purdue Fort Wayne, and Southern Illinois.
Traveling to the Sunshine State will include sophomore Olivia Loberg (Bend, Ore.-Summit), senior Maria Connelly (Waterville, Ohio- Anthony Wayne), freshman Sophia Wygonik (Westland, Mich.-Livonia Franklin), freshman Anna Watson (Ashland, Ohio-Ashland), and Paige Zolciak (Perrysburg, Ohio-St. Ursula Academy). Freshman Tatyana Nyambane (Nairobi, Kenya-Nord Anglia International School Dubai) will also be making her collegiate debut as an individual competitor.
