YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University lacrosse program signed its first recruit out of the Sunshine State, announced Head Coach Alicia Groveston Jackson, Feb. 1, in Saint John Paul II Academy (Fla.) senior Riley Brannon.

"Riley brings a great versatility to the field," said Jackson. "She is a two-way midfielder who is strong on the draw, tough to beat and a force to be reckoned with on the offensive end! Her commitment to her academics and athletics will be a welcome addition to the Eagles community."

Lacrosse will be the 19th varsity sport at Eastern Michigan, which begins play during the 2022-23 academic year.

EMU will be the seventh Mid-American Conference institution to sponsor the sport at the NCAA Division I level. Others in the MAC include Akron, Central Michigan, Detroit Mercy, Kent State, Robert Morris, and Youngstown State.
