Lacrosse signs senior attacker Tracy Grollman
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University lacrosse program signed its first recruit from the State of Maryland, Head Coach Alicia Groveston Jackson announced today, Feb. 4. Annapolis Area Christian School (Md.) senior Tracy Grollman is the newest player to sign with the program.
"Tracy's experience with new programs, having played for her club Pure Lax during its inception, will be an invaluable asset," said Groveston Jackson. "Her ability to quarterback an attack, where most things funnel through her is going to be a game-changer for our team. Tracy has an extremely high lacrosse IQ; she is able to run an offense, see the best option and execute. I look forward to seeing what she will do here at EMU."
"I chose EMU because I wanted the opportunity to start a D1 lacrosse program, just like I started my club team," said Grollman. "It also reminded me so much of home by being able to walk right downtown. It feels like a home away from home."
Lacrosse will be the 19th varsity sport at Eastern Michigan, which begins play during the 2022-23 academic year.
EMU will be the seventh Mid-American Conference institution to sponsor the sport at the NCAA Division I level. Others in the MAC include Akron, Central Michigan, Detroit Mercy, Kent State, Robert Morris, and Youngstown State.
