Bryant Named MAC Male Scholar Athlete of the Week

The graduate student set the school record in the weight throw, Dec. 3

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) -- Eastern Michigan Univerisity men's track and field graduate student Taige Bryant (Edmond, Okla.-Edmond Memorial) was named the Mid-American Conference Male Scholar Athlete of the Week the league office announced today, Dec. 7.

Bryant crushed his previous-best weight throw of 21.87m with a launch of 22.56m to set the school record and take first place at the Grand Valley State University's Holiday Open, Dec. 3. The 22.56m toss topped senior Newlyn Stephenson's 22.28m performance set last year at the Akron Quad Meet, Jan. 15.
