The Green and White record seven personal-best efforts against the Lions

ST. CHARLES, Mo. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team bested Lindenwood University Sunday, Feb. 2, 195.325-193.625, in non-conference action. The Green and White hit a season-high with the overall score of 195.325, as well as set two season-high event scores, in route to a 2-2 overall record on the season.
 
"I am incredibly proud of this team" said Head Coach Katie Minasola "We started the day with two falls on bars but came back strong to finish a great meet. I'm excited to carry this momentum home to our final home meet."

The Eagles started the day on bars, led by junior Cortney Bezold (Maineville, Ohio-Bishop Fenwick) who tied her career-high on the event, scoring 9.900 and claiming first place. The junior was followed by classmate Jada Rondeau (Savage, Minn.-Central) and sophomore Kara Roberts (Pinckney, Mich.-Pinckney), who scored 9.750 and 9.725, respectively. Junior Cali Harden (Saline, Mich.-Saline) also contributed a 9.625. The Green and White trailed at the end of the first rotation, 48.200-48.900.
 
Moving to vault EMU took the lead after totaling 48.800 on the event, the highest score of the season on the event, moving the running score to 97.000-96.150. Eastern was led by Roberts, earning a new career-high 9.800 and tying for second place. Senior Emili Dobronics (Orland Park, Ill.-Carl Sandburg) scored 9.775, while Harden and freshman Hannah Hartung (Lincoln, Neb.-Lincoln East) both hit 9.750, a career-best for the freshman. Rondeau rounded out the scoring five, posting 9.725.
 
On floor, Eastern Michigan maintained its lead, scoring another season-high 49.100. The Eagles were led by cousins, Dobronics and sophomore Caitlin Satler (Orland Park, Ill.-Carl Sandburg), both scoring 9.850 and tying for first. The pair were followed by Roberts and junior Brianna Price (Kings Mountain, N.C.-Homeschool), both hitting new personal-bests, scoring 9.825 and 9.800, respectively. Rondeau earned 9.775 and freshman Mickayla Stuckey (Union City, Ind.-Indiana Connections Academy) earned a career-high of her own, picking up a 9.725. EMU maintained the lead over LU going into the final rotation, 146.100-145.225.
 
Ending the day on beam EMU had three gymnasts tie for second-place, Rondeau, Dobronics and Satler, all scoring 9.875. Stuckey followed behind them, earning a personal-best 9.825. Price rounded out the top scores, earning 9.775 to tie her career-high and sealing the victory for the Green and White. EMU closes the day with a score of 49.225 on beam, a new season-high. 
 
In the all-around competition, Rondeau finished first with a score of 39.125. Roberts landed in second place, hitting 38.525.
 
Next the Eagles will return home and welcome reigning Mid-American Conference champions, Northern Illinois University Friday, Feb. 7 at 6 p.m. During the meet, the Green and White will honor four seniors for Senior Night.
