The Eagles will host two triangulars inside the Convocation Center

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team announced its schedule for the 2021 season, today, Dec. 4. This year's schedule includes two triangular meets to be held in the Convocation Center.

Eastern opens the 2021 campaign on the road at the Temple Quad in Philadelphia, Pa., Jan. 16, taking on host Temple University, as well as Towson University and the University of New Hampshire. This will be the first time that the Eagles will compete against UNH in 23 years, dating back to Feb. 21, 1998.

Playing host in the first of four home meets, EMU will welcome Bowling Green State University to the Convocation Center, Jan. 24, before hitting the road to another Mid-American Conference foe in Kent State University, Jan. 31. In Kent, Ohio, the Green and White will compete against the Golden Flashes and the Mountaineers of West Virginia University.

Returning home, Feb. 6, Eastern Michigan will compete in its first of two triangular meets at home, against two MAC opponents in Ball State University and Western Michigan University.

On Feb. 12, the Eagles take the long trip to the GymQuarters Invitational that will take place in St. Charles, Mo., Feb. 12. The invitational is a yearly meet for collegiate teams, put on by GymQuarters Gymnastics, with squads such as Lindenwood, Southeast Missouri, Air Force, Iowa, Missouri, Illinois, Ball State, and Illinois State in attendance. This will be the first time Eastern has competed at this event.

From there, the Green and White return home to challenge MAC opponent Kent State for the second competition between the two. This time, the meet is at the Convocation Center, Feb. 14. Following the Valentines Day festivities, EMU takes off for back-to-back road meets against Northern Illinois University, Feb. 19, and Western Michigan, Feb. 21.

For the second triangular meet of the year, Eastern welcomes Air Force and BGSU to Ypsilanti, March 7. The Eagles will close out the regular season at Central Michigan University, March 13, where they will take on the host Chippewas, as well as the Cardinals of BSU, and the Broncos of WMU.

The MAC Championships will take place on March 20, in Kalamazoo, Mich. as Western Michigan hosts. The Green and White will look to bring home its fourth conference title. If the team should qualify, NCAA Regionals will be April 3 at one of six possible locations, which will be announced at a later date.
