The Eagles won their first Mid-American Conference set of the season

DEKALB, Ill. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University volleyball team fell to Northern Illinois University, 17-25, 25-17, 18-25, 22-25, Sept. 28 at the NIU Convocation Center.

Redshirt senior Cassie Haut (Monroe, Mich.-St. Mary's Catholic) led the way for the Eagles with 15 kills and a .448 hitting percentage, along with a season-high .517 kill percentage. Haut also contributed three digs.

Senior Camille Schomear (Rochester, Mich.-Oakland Christian) and junior Franki Strefling (Niles, Mich.-Buchanan) led Eastern with 17 and 12 digs, respectively. Strefling also tallied 14 kills and finished with a .334 hitting percentage.

Freshman Jayden Otto's (Crystal Lake, Ill.-Prairie Ridge) 17 assists and senior Riley Taylor's (Indianapolis, Ind.-Perry Meridian) 25 combined for 42 of the 48 assists for the Eagles.

Eastern Michigan returns home to the Convocation Center to host Central Michigan Thursday, Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. and Ohio Saturday, Oct. 5 at 5 p.m.
