Top-25 Players in EMU Soccer History: Part IV

YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) — In celebration of the 25th year of the Eastern Michigan University soccer program, the EMU department of athletics is unveiling the best 25 players to represent EMU. Each week groups of five players will be announced in chronological order based on when they donned the Green and White. Below is a list of the five players that make up this week's group.
This week's group consists of Chelsea Detrick, Katie Marsh, Stephanie Clarke, Cara Cutaia, and Julie Kaim.
Detrick starred for the Eagles from 2008-11, beginning her career with one of the best season's by a freshman that EMU has ever seen. Named to the MAC All-Freshmen Team, Detrick tallied 24 points in her first year donning the Green and White. Not only did she lead the conference in points and goals, but her point total remains tied for ninth-most all-time, while her 11 goals are slotted fifth-most in single season laurels. A Second Team All-MAC and Academic All-MAC awardwinner, she finished her career ranked eighth with 20 career goals and turned in the ninth-best point total (50) in EMU history.
A versatile midfielder with strong defending abilities, Marsh played for EMU from 2008-11. A Second Team All-MAC selection, Marsh also earned NSCAA Third Team All-Great Lakes Region honors as a sophomore. She finished her career with two goals and two assists, while playing alongside her twin sister Amanda.
Kaim remains one of the most decorated defenders to ever come through Ypsilanti, having donned the Green and White from 2008-11. Named to the MAC All-Freshmen Team in 2008, Kaim also earned First Team All-MAC, Second Team All-MAC, and Academic All-MAC honors throughout her career. Overall, Kaim helped lead the Eagles to 28 shutouts, while chipping in three goals and five assists on the offensive end.
Cutaia, one of the most prolific point producers in program history, played from 2010-13 after missing the 2009 season due to injury. A two-time All-MAC selection, Cutaia earned second team honors as a junior before being elevated to the first team as a senior. The Burlington, Ontario native is one of just three players all-time to post multiple 20-point seasons, doing so in 2012 (22) and 2013 (29). In 2012, Cutaia dished out eight assists, the third-most in single season history. An Academic All-MAC and MAC All-Tournament Team honoree, Cutaia was named a captain her senior season in which she posted career-highs in nearly every category. As a senior, she scored 11 goals, the fifth-most in single season laurels, while her 29-point season also ranks fifth-best all-time. Cutaia's career numbers still stack up among the best all-time as she is slotted fifth with 19 assists, fifth with 63 points, and sixth with 22 goals.
A MAC All-Freshmen Team honoree, Clarke burst onto the scene in her first season as an Eagle in 2010. Clarke finished second on the team with 14 points, scoring four goals and adding six assists, en route to receiving NSCAA All-Great Lakes Region Third Team and Second Team All-MAC honors. In a three game span, Clarke tallied three goals and five assist for 11 points in leading EMU to a 2-0-1 over that stretch. She later garnered CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team and CoSIDA Third Team Academic All-American status as a senior. For her career, Clarke racked up 21 assists, the third-most all-time, as well as 13 goals. Overall, her 47 career points stand as 12th-most in program history.
