KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University men's track and field team concluded its efforts at the Tennessee Relays hosted by the University of Tennessee Saturday, April 13.
The Eagles competed in the High Jump, Discus Throw, Triple Jump, 4x100m, 4x400m, and 4x800m Relay events.
The Green and White's best relay finish of the day came from the 4x400m effort's of seniors Elijah Barber (Columbus, Ohio-Eastmoor Academy) and Tyler Underwood (Clinton, Mich.-Clinton), junior Terrell Posada (Naples, Fla.-Naples High), and sophomore Owen Richardson (Basingstoke, England), placing second overall with a time of 3:11.82. The group topped teams from Mid-American Conference foe Central Michigan University, Indiana University, the University of Pittsburgh, and Illinois State University, while marking the fastest time by a conference squad in the 2019 campaign.
Eastern Michigan's 4x800m team of sophomores Owen Day (Ottawa, Ontario-International School of Dusseldorf) and Hayelom Fitsum (Denver, Colo.-Denver School of Science and Technology), junior Roderic Wilson (Atlanta, Ga.-Blanche Ely), and senior Melika Ghali (Toronto, Canada- Jarvis Collegiate Institute) finished fourth with a time of 7:41.58, while the 4x100m squad of junior Sean Beckom II (Saginaw, Mich.-Heritage), Posada, Underwood, and Richardson earned sixth with a time of 40.70.
In the Eagles' individual efforts, senior Cameron Hart (Columbus, Ohio-Bishop Hartley) finished 11th in the High Jump, clearing 2.00m, while fellow senior Micah Peters (York, Ontario-Vaughn Road Academy) earned a 14th-place effort with a leap of 13.97m.
