EMU Just One Shot Off the Pace Headed Into Final Round

UNIVERSITY Park, Pa. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University men's golf team tallied identical rounds of 283 at the Rutherford Intercollegiate and sits just one shot behind host Penn State University on the par-71, 7,219-yard PSU Blue Course Saturday, April 13. The Nittany Lions finished the day with a three-under 565 (287-278) while the Eagles recorded a 566 (283-283).
Carding an opening round 69 and following it up with a 71 in each of his first two rounds, Beau Breault (Hartland, Mich.-Hartland) and Ty Celone (Long Sault, Ontario, Canada-St Joseph's Catholic) are tied for third overall at two-under 140. Cougar Collins (Caledon, Ontario, Canada-Mayfield Secondary) is tied for eighth, starting the day with a 71 and finishing at 141 (71-70). Zach Sudinsky (McKinney, Texas-Boyd-Stephen F. Austin) also placed in the top-25 and stands at three-over for the day at 145 (74-71).
Rutgers' junior Christopher Gotterup leads the Rutherford Intercollegiate with a four-under 138 (71-67) after he had an eagle and four birdies in his second round for a 67.
