SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. (EMUEagles.com) -- Using its second lowest round of the year, the Eastern Michigan University men's golf team sits in third-place after the opening-day of the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate, March 9. EMU carded a first round 283 before following it up with a 291 for a 36-hole tally of 574.
Mississippi State holds down the top-spot with a 559 (280-279) followed by No. 44 Northwestern (570), EMU, No. 38 Kansas (575), and No. 41 Marquette (582).
Senior Beau Breault (Hartland, Mich.-Hartland) is tied for sixth with a 141 (67-72) followed closely by Cougar Collins (Caledon, Ontario, Canada-Mayfield Secondary) and Zach Sudinsky (McKinney, Texas-Boyd-Stephen F. Austin) with a 143 (70-73) and a 145 (74-71), respectively.
Ty Celone (Long Sault, Ontario, Canada-St Joseph's Catholic) is tied for 27th with a 148 (70-78) while Zack Mason (Toronto, Ontario, Canada-Blyth Academy Lawrence Park) managed a 150 (75-75)/
The teams return to the course Sunday, March 10, to conclude play on the par-72, 7,107-yard Outlaw Course at the Desert Mountain Golf Club.
