The trio will join the Eagles beginning with the 2019 season
YPSILANTI, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - Eastern Michigan University Head Women's Soccer Coach Scott Hall announced the signing of three high school seniors to national letters of intent Wednesday, March 6. The group consisting of Amanda Cripps (Bradford, Ontario-Holy Trinity Catholic), Tiffanie Hollingsworth (South Lyon, Mich.-South Lyon East), and Rebecca Przybylo (Canton, Mich.-Plymouth) will join EMU for the 2019 season.
"All of these players have played at a high level and come into what will be a very strong team next year," Hall exclaimed. "They understand they will have to be at their best and that is what separated them from the rest."
"Amanda caught our eye at one of our ID camps on campus," Hall said. "She has a goal-scorer's mentality and scored every time we saw her play. Whether it is with her left foot, right foot, head, or shooting from a distance. She finds ways to score. We love her grind."
Cripps is the lone Canadian in the class, hailing from Bradford, Ontario. A three-year letterwinner at Holy Trinity Catholic High School, she led the Tigers to a second-place OFSAA finish as a sophomore, as well as a OFSAA quarterfinals appearance. She also lettered in basketball.
"Tiffanie brings incredible athleticism to our team," Hall shared. "She plays as a wing back for the Michigan Hawks and has great 1-on-1 defending abilities, delivers great services, and has flat out speed. We look forward to adding her to our group of speedy outside backs."
A two-star recruit according to TopDrawerSoccer.com, Hollingsworth is a product of South Lyon East High School in South Lyon, Mich. A three-year letterwinner for the Cougars, she also ran track where she was named MVP twice as a sprinter. A two-time academic all-state honoree, Hollingsworth qualified to the state meet twice, finishing third as a junior.
"When looking for a goalkeeper in this class, we were looking for someone who could make the saves they were suppose to and someone who was great with their feet, and we feel we found that in Becca." Hall stated. "We are thrilled to have three very capable keepers on roster this year."
Rounding out the class, Przybylo comes to EMU by way of Plymouth High School in Canton, Mich. A three-year lettwerwinner for the Wildcats, she is a three-time all-conference pick, as well as a two-time all-district selection. The Canton native also garnered all-region and all-state accolades. Additionally, Przybylo was a four-time letterwinner for the Plymouth basketball team where she was also tabbed the team's top defensive player twice.
The group will join the Eagles beginning with the 2019 season and will add to a roster that returns several key players that helped EMU to its first 10-win season since 2014.
