Two Eagles competed in the first of two days of competition in Nashville

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (EMUEagles.com) –
The Eastern Michigan University women's track and field team began competition at the Black and Gold Invitational Friday, March 22, hosted by Vanderbilt University.
 
Freshman Mair Edwards (Basingstoke, England- The Costello School) started the day with a 16th-place effort in the 200m, crossing the finish line in 24.70. Her performance marked her career-best time in the event.
 
Sophomore Madison Distelrath (Fort Wayne, Ind.-Homestead) followed Edwards with a 4:49.34 1500m performance, earning her 46th place.
 
The Eagles continue competition at the Black and Gold Invitational tomorrow, March 23, with the field events set to begin at 10 a.m. CT. For more information on the meet, including a link to live results, visit the Women's Track and Field Schedule page on EMUEagles.com.
