WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (EMUEagles.com) – Eastern Michigan University senior Penelope Guilleux (Saint Maur Des Fosse, France-Arsonval) posted her 12th career top-20 showing, as she notched a two-day score of 237 (79-79-79) at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate, March 19. The finish marked the third-time during the 2018-19 campaign that Guilleux had notched a final ranking inside the top-20.
Overall, the EMU women's golf team finished in eighth on the par 72, 6,105-yard Kingsmill Resort River Course with a 54-hole tally of 972 (320-330-322). Seton Hall (918) rolled to a 10-stroke victory over High Point (928), while Penn (936), William & Mary (959), and Akron (960) rounded out the top five. The Pirates' Mia Kness made it a double victory, as she claimed medalist honors with a two-over 218 (71-74-73).
Behind Guilleux, sophomore Preaw Sripatrprasite (Bangkok, Thailand-Siam International) tallied a 240 (79-83-78) to tie for 24th. Junior Julia Stevenson (Milford, Mich.-Milford) closed with a final round 85 to finish tied for 36th with a 247 (7-85-85), while senior Kritsuda Apiwatthanadol (Bangkok, Thailand-Somtawin Witead Suska Huaymongkhon School) added a 251 (85-86-80) for 44th. Rounding out the lineup, freshman Green Apichonlati (Bangkok, Thailand-The Regent's International School) tied for 63rd at 259 (89-83-87).
Eastern returns to action next at the Dolores Black Falcon Invitational, April 6-7, in Bowling Green, Ohio.
