Bezold Earns MAC Specialist of the Week

Cortney Bezold claims her second MAC award of the season

CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) - Eastern Michigan University sophomore Cortney Bezold (Maineville, Ohio-Bishop Fenwick) earned Mid-American Conference Specialist of the Week honors, the league office announced Tuesday, March 19. This is her second time claiming the honor, and third time for the Green and White this season.

Bezold was fantastic for the Eagles on bars against Kent State University, March 15. The Maineville, Ohio native hit 9.875 to a earn first place finish, leading Eastern to its highest score on bars this season. Additionally Bezolds efforts helped lift EMU to a season-high overall score, and win on Senior Night.

The Eagles return to action for the 2019 MAC Championship held in DeKalb, Ill., March 22. Action is slated to begin at 2p.m., on ESPN3. Additional coverage can be found on the Gymnastics schedule page on EMUEagles.com.
