RIO VERDE, Ariz. (EMUEagles.com) – Behind the solid play of sophomore Preaw Sripatrprasite (Bangkok, Thailand-Siam International), the Eastern Michigan University women's golf team finished tied with Ball State University for 10th-place at the Rio Verde Invitational with a 36-hole mark of 615 (305-310) Sunday, Feb. 24, on the par-71 Quail Run Golf Course.
Sripatrprasite finished tied for eighth place with a 148 (71-77) for her first top 10 showing of the season. Overall, it is was the second top 10 finish of her career and the first since finishing fifth at the Shirley Spork EMU Invitational, Oct. 9-10, 2017.
Senior Penelope Guilleux (Saint Maur Des Fosse, France-Arsonval) took 39th with a 154 (78-76) while senior Kritsuda Apiwatthanadol (Bangkok, Thailand-Somtawin Witead Suska Huaymongkhon School) was 52nd with a 156 (78-78). Rounding out the lineup, junior Julia Stevenson (Milford, Mich.-Milford) and Maria Connelly (Waterville, Ohio-Anthony Wayne) added a 157 (78-79) and a 164 (84-80), respectively.
As an individual, Green Apichonlati (Bangkok, Thailand-The Regent's International School) notched rounds of 84 and 80 for a 159 in 64th. Katelin Lawson (LaSalle, Ontario-Ridge Community-University of Tampa) recorded a 162 (79-83) and Abby Livingston (Novi, Mich.-Novi) posted a 178 (85-93).
Eastern returns to action next at the Kingsmill Intercollegiate, March 18-19, in Williamsburg, Va.
