Men's Track and Field Looks Ahead to Hillsdale Tune Up

HILLSDALE, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) - The Eastern Michigan University men's track and field team is set to compete Saturday, Feb. 16, when it heads to the Hillsdale Tune Up at Hillsdale College. This newly-added competition will be the final meet for EMU before the team competes in the MAC Indoor Championship, Feb. 22-23.

The Green and White most recently competed at both the GVSU Big Meet, Feb. 8 and the Music City Challenege Feb 9. EMU recorded 12 top-five efforts at the Big Meet, as juniors Terrell Posada (Naples, Fla.-Naples) and Carlos Sanchez Juan (Onil, Spain-Ies La Creueta) led the Eagles with a pair of event titles. Posada ran the 60m in 6.80 seconds, tying his career-best time en route to a first-place finish. Sanchez Juan earned the long jump event title by clearing 7.12m.

Sophomore Owen Richardson (Basingstoke, England) and senior Tyler Underwood (Clinton, Mich.-Clinton) were the lone Eagle representatives at the Music City Challenge. Both competed in the 400m event and came away with top-10 finishes. Underwood finished second with a time of 46.91, only .001 seconds away from an event title. His performance in the event earned him Mid American Conference track athlete of the week honors. Richardson's time of 47.60 was good for a ninth-place finish.
