Underwood Gathers MAC Track Athlete of The Week Honors

The senior earns his second weekly honor this season, most of any Eagle in 2018-19
CLEVELAND, Ohio (EMUEagles.com) -- Eastern Michigan University senior sprinter Tyler Underwood (Clinton, Mich.-Clinton) earned Mid-American Conference Track Athlete of the Week honors, the conference office announced Tuesday, Feb. 12. It is the fourth weekly honor for the Eagles this season, and the second consecutive week an Eagles' track runner has been honored.
Underwood earned his second conference weekly honor this season with a second-place finish at the Music City Challenge hosted by Vanderbilt University, Saturday, Feb. 9. Underwood's time of 46.91 was just .001 seconds behind the event's winner, DaShawn Morris, from University of Maryland. The senior is currently tied for 29th in the NCAA in the 400m with his 46.65 time at last weekend's Meyo Invitational, Feb. 1-2.
EMU hits the track for the last time in its 2018-19 regular season campaign Saturday, Feb. 16, as the team heads to the Hillsdale Tune Up, held on the campus of Hillsdale College.
