EMU Finishes Fourth at Michigan Exhibition Quad

ANN ARBOR, Mich. (EMUEagles.com) – The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team competed at the University of Michigan in an exhibition quad meet alongside Central Michigan University, Western Michigan University, and the host Wolverines Saturday, Dec. 7, inside the Crisler Center. The Eagles finished with a final score of 192.400, finishing behind the U-M's score of 195.225, the Chippewas' 194.500, and the Broncos' 193.400.

"I was happy to get the team on the competition floor." Head Coach Katie Minasola said. "We had quite a few new routines in the lineup today and it was a great day to grow and learn. I was pleased with how we finished strong on beam and look forward to the start of the 2020 season."
 
EMU on floor was led by senior Emili Dobronics (Orland Park, Ill.-Carl Sandburg), scoring a 9.850 and tying for fourth, and was followed by junior Jada Rondeau (Norwood Young America, Minn.-Central) who hit a 9.775. Sophomores Shannon Gregory (Edison, N.J.-John P. Stevens) and Caitlin Satler (Orland Park, Ill.-Carl Sandburg) earned 9.65's, and junior Brianna Price (Kings Mountain, N.C.-Homeschool) rounded out the five scorers with a 9.575, giving the Eagles a score of 48.450 after the first rotation.
 
On vault, junior Cali Harden (Saline, Mich.-Saline) hit 9.725, the highest score for the Green and White on the apparatus. She was followed by sophomore Kara Roberts (Pinckney, Mich.-Pinckney) and freshman Molly Parris (Hudson, Ohio-Hudson), who both earned 9.7. Dobronics also chipped in a score of 9.650. After the second rotation, Eastern Michigan held a score of 96.825.
 
Moving to bars, Rondeau hit 9.725, tying for eighth, to lead EMU. Freshman Hannah Hartung (Lincoln, Neb.-Lincoln East) scored a 9.675 in her Eagles debut, and Parris also helped out with a score of 9.625, upping the Green and White score to 143.85
 
The Eagles finished the day on beam, and were led by Dobronics and Satler, both earning 9.775, tying for fifth place. Price contributed a 9.675, and Gregory added a score of 9.575.  Eastern finished the contest with a score of 192.400.

In the all-around competition, Rondeau finished the contest with a score of 37.950, good for sixth place, and Roberts totaled 37.225, finishing in ninth place.
